Division I events require an A, B, or C rating within the USFA. Division II events require a C, D, E, or Unclassified rating. Division III events are only open to fencers with a rating of D, E, or Unclassified.
All fencers must be 13 years old as of Jan 1, 2011 to enter a competition, except in the following circumstances: - To participate in a Veteran event, a fencer must be born in 1970 or earlier. - Youth 14 events require a birthday between 1996-1999. - Youth 12 events require a birthday between 1998-2001. - Youth 10 events require a birthday between 2000-2003. - Cadet events require a birthday between 1994-1997. (until Feb. 2011) - Junior events require a birthday between 1991-1997. (until Feb. 2011)
