Fencing Camps for Summer 2013
Do your children like the sword fights in movies? Do they have more fun swinging the cardboard tubes from the Christmas wrapping paper than they do opening their presents?

Presidio Fencing Club will be holding youth day camps to introduce your boys and girls to the sport of fencing in a fun-filled environment. We will play games to develop coordination and self-confidence while learning the ins and outs of one of the oldest events in the modern Olympic Games.
The average age of our campers is around 10 years old, but the range is 8-13. If your child is at either end of the spectrum, then please call to discuss whether any one week would be more appropriate based on the ages of other campers. (i.e. you wouldn't want to be the only 8-year-old in a group of 6th graders).
This year, we are combining our camps. We will be mixing our introductory and intermediate fencers. It might be that persons who have never fenced before will learn the basics while other, more experienced campers will work on honing their technique. Time will be spent each day sparring and rehearsing technique in groups and privately with a coach. Each camper will work towards achieving individualized goals set at the beginning of the week.
Campers must wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes; they will spend a good portion of each day exercising. They should also bring a water bottle and a lunch. All fencing equipment will be provided. Space is limited to twelve people only.
